Back in 2007, I was searching for a technique that I could combine art and working with people. As an artist myself and someone who has done a lot of therapy I was very familiar with art therapy. Through much research I found the art for healing method and became a certified art for healing facilitator. It is not art therapy, but an art therapeutic process and enlightening way to play with paint.
Through my training I have been the participant/artist, a volunteer and a facilitator. I have worked with many age groups from 6 yr. old children to adults. This process is an amazing experience for anyone. Georgia O’Keeffe says it best,
“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.”
I started Expressive Exchange workshops in 2008. My goal is to create a safe place for the attendees to be able to let go and paint and express themselves freely.
