About Expressive Exchange

Hello and welcome to the Expressive Exchange website. I’m very excited to share this amazing form of expressive art with you!

Several years ago, I was searching for a way to use art as a fun and therapeutic way to help people. An artist myself (with 20 years experience in commercial art) I was very familiar with art therapy, as well as traditional talk therapy. I firmly believe both methods can be extremely helpful, but I sometimes find that “painting with purpose” is a far better way to express myself.

After extensive research, I was introduced to the Art for Healing method and became a Certified Art for Healing Facilitator. It’s important to mention that this modality is not art therapy, but rather an art therapeutic process – and a fun and enlightening way to play with paint!

Through my training, I have been the participant/artist, a volunteer and a facilitator. I have worked with age groups from children to senior citizens. This process is an amazing experience for anyone because it allows you to express yourself without words. Georgia O’Keeffe says it best “I found I can say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.”

I created Expressive Exchange workshops in 2008. My goal is to create a safe place for people to be able to let go, paint and express themselves freely. Helping people express their feelings through the language of color on canvas is my life passion. I am confident you will love this process as much as I do!

Thanks for being a part of an expressive exchange.
